Passport Specification

  1. Passport must be valid at least 180 days after the intended date of departure to Nigeria. If a multiple-entry visa is applied for, the passport must be valid 90 days after the last intended date of departure; and
  2. Passport must be valid in the country of issue;
  3. Passport must have at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement. 

Passport Photograph Specification

  1. Two (2) recent colour passport photographs taken within the last 30 days to reflect current appearance.
  2. Files with Extension jpg, png, jpeg are allowed only. Please upload a valid passport photograph with photo specs as below:
  • Dimensions: (200 X 450) pixels.
  • Color: Full color.
  • Head size: Head must be between 29mm and 34mm.
  • Background: White.
  • Smile: Neutral expression.
  • Eyes: Visible and open.
  • Glasses: None, only daily wearing glasses.
  • Headgear: None allowed, only for religious purposes.

Visa Application form

  1. Application form must be filled in correctly.
  2. The person(s) exercising the parental authority or the legal guardian for the minor must sign for the minor. Parental authorizations are required to be notarized.
  3. Application form is to be completed in English Language.

Biometric

Applicants’ fingerprints (biometric) will be taken upon successful submission of your application at an approved Visa Application Centre. Diplomats are exempted from biometric enrollment.

Interview

Irrespective of where an application has been submitted (Consulate or VAC) and whether the application has been submitted by the applicant in person or not, the applicant may be called for an interview at the Consulate.



Direct Submission of Visa Application to the Consulate General of Nigeria, Atlanta, GA 

The Consulate General in Atlanta, Georgia, United States wishes to inform applicants for visa to Nigeria that, following the closure of all Nigeria visa application centers ran by the Online Integrated Solutions Inc. (OIS) in the United State, henceforth, all visa applications should be directly submitted to the Consulate in Atlanta or the Embassy in Washington DC or the Consulate General in New York for processing. This remains Until further notice.

2. Applicants are therefore kindly advised to note the following guidelines on submission of applications:

I. Physical Appearance: All applicants (unless otherwise exempted) are require to appear in person at the Embassy or the relevant Consulate on their scheduled appointment dates along with their completed applications, national passport, other supporting documents and self-addressed return envelope (for the dispatch of their passport).

II. Mobile Phones are prohibited at enrollment areas. You will be asked to keep them in designated areas.

III. Biometric Exemptions: Minors aged five (5) years old and below, adults aged seventy (70) years and above, are exempted from fingerprint and photograph capture.

IV. Submission by Exempted Applicants: All exempted applicants are required to submit completed application, national passport, and all supporting documents by email, using a recognized courier service of their choice together with a self-addressed return enveloped to the Embassy or the relevant Consulate;

V. No On-Site Collection: Passport collection in person is not permitted at the Embassy or the Consulate. All passports will be returned exclusively through the envelope submitted by the applicant.

3. Applicants are further advised to continue monitoring the official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigerian Missions in the United States for further update on visa application procedures.

The Nigerian Mission in the United States hereby informs the public, particularly prospective applicants for Nigerian Visa residing in the United States of America.
