Visas
Depending on the purpose of your journey to Nigeria, there are different types/classes of visas that are available to match your need. Generally, a person not a citizen of Nigeria, planning to travel to Nigeria, whether for the purpose of visit, tourism, study, work or residence, must first obtain a Nigerian Visa. Read more in the Visa Categories section below.
- Documents not in English must be submitted with a certified translated copy.
- Copy of all letters should be typed, addressed to the Consulate General of Nigeria, Atlanta signed and dated.
- Nationals other than US citizens must provide a copy of US green card or residency permit stamped on their passport.
- All visa applications (except Diplomatic Visa) made to the Consulate General of Nigeria, Atlanta are to be submitted at Nigeria’s Visa Application Collection Centres in Atlanta or Houston.
The Centers are managed by Online Integrated Services Limited (OIS) in Atlanta/Houston and Thebez Global Resources Limited in Houston, who will forward the applications to the Consulate for appropriate processing.
Step 1: Read the information on categories and classes of Nigerian visas to establish that you meet all requirements to receive the type of visa for which you are applying. Click https://immigration.gov.ng/#visa_category for category, class and visa requirements.
Step 2: Complete online application form by clicking https://visa.immigration.gov.ng/. Read more on how to apply and make payment online here.
Step 3: Submit application and required documents at the approved Visa Application Centres ( OIS office in Atlanta and Houston or Thebez Global in Houston).
Appointment is mandatory for every visit at our approved Visa Application Centers. Appointments can be scheduled online at www.oisservices.com and www.thebezglobalresourcesltd.com/Nigeria/USA
- To begin your application click on the link https://visa.immigration.gov.ng/
- Next, click on start application, this will take you to login page.
- To log in, you must use your existing email account, which can only be a Google, or sign up using OpenID account. If you do not have any of these, please create a new Google, or OpenID account to start your application.
- next click on Create new application on the top right-hand corner of the page.
- This will now take you to the Visa Application form.
- You can now start filling out your application form
- Once your application form is completed, review and ensure all information filled out is correct.
- Submit your application by clicking on the submit button at the end of the application form. Your Application ID and Reference Number will now be generated and displayed on your screen. Please read all instructions displayed.
- Review and click the print and continue tab.
- Proceed to make payment online with debit card online
- Print payment receipt via this link https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/visa/OnlineQueryStatus using the application ID and Reference number on your application form.
As part of anti-fraud measures implemented to protect our valued customers, please note the following policy for making payments on the site:
- Applicants’ first name and last name must match the first name and last name on the credit card used for payment.
- Applicants who intend to pay for family members should use the cart which allows for payment for up to 5 applications at the same time – the applicant/card holder and 4 family members).
- When using the cart, the last name of all family members must match the last name on the credit card used for payment.
- To qualify to use the cart to pay for family, the cardholder must also be an applicant in the cart.
- Cards can be used once per month unless registered where applicable.
- To ensure that your payment is properly processed, the address on your card statement must match exactly the address you provide on the portal payment page.
- The following users are required to register their cards before making payment on the site:
- Applicants whose first names and last names do not exactly match the first and last names on their credit cards.
- Cardholders making payments for others.
- Applicants/cardholders who wish to make payments more than once a month on the site.
- Applicants/cardholders such as travel agencies or businesses who wish to use the cart to make payment for more than 5 applicants at the same time.
Note that no card holder who has charged back, or card that has been charged back or applicant for whom a charged back card was used for payment shall be able to use a card on this site unless approved by customer service. Same applies to applicants or card holders who are placed on the site blacklist due to fraudulent activities.

F2A Visa is a single-entry short visit visa for non-accredited Diplomats who wish to visit Nigeria for official business.
Non-accredited Diplomats means:
- Visiting government officials who are not accredited to Nigeria; or
- Foreign government officials on government business in Nigeria.
F2A – Eligibility
F2A Visa is available to the following categories of persons:
- Non-Accredited Diplomats who are on a short visit to Nigeria not exceeding 90 days. They are not permitted to work. Example include:
- Visiting Diplomats;
- Visiting government officials; and
- Visiting security personnel on government business.
- Temporary Work Diplomats who are on a temporary duty tour within the Embassy:
- Embassy Staff;
- Attaches; and
- Security personnel.

F3A Visa is a classification for transfer/direct transit passengers not staying beyond 48 hours. The direct transit passenger requires no visa.
F3A – Eligibility
- Direct transit traveler;
- Crew members to enable rotation/changeover of crew members for sea vessels or international airlines scheduled to depart Nigeria territorial waters or airspace within the validity of Transit without visa in line with international convention guiding maritime and airspace operations.

F3B Visa is a Transit Visa that allows transit passengers with an onward ticket to the next destination and crew members for a sea vessel or international airline to pass through Nigeria before proceeding on the onward journey.
F3B – Eligibility
- Transit Passengers who have onward ticket to the next destination where entry is guaranteed but wishes to enter Nigeria before proceeding on the onward journey; and
- Crew members of joining sea vessels or international airlines scheduled to depart Nigeria territorial waters or airspace for a foreign port within the validity of Transit visa in line with international convention guiding maritime and airspace operations.

F4B – Eligibility
F4B Visa is available to Citizens of countries who offer a similar multiple entry business visa to Nigerian citizens. Such multiple entry business visits may include for the purpose of attending:
- Business discussions;
- Meetings;
- Conferences;
- Seminars;
- Contract Negotiations;
- Marketing;
- Sales;
- Procurement of Nigerian goods/services;
- Trade Fairs; and
- Job interviews.

General Requirement Specifications
Passport Specification
- Passport must be valid at least 180 days after the intended date of departure to Nigeria. If a multiple-entry visa is applied for, the passport must be valid 90 days after the last intended date of departure; and
- Passport must be valid in the country of issue;
- Passport must have at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement.
Passport Photograph Specification
- Two (2) recent colour passport photographs taken within the last 30 days to reflect current appearance.
- Files with Extension jpg, png, jpeg are allowed only. Please upload a valid passport photograph with photo specs as below:
- Dimensions: (200 X 450) pixels.
- Color: Full color.
- Head size: Head must be between 29mm and 34mm.
- Background: White.
- Smile: Neutral expression.
- Eyes: Visible and open.
- Glasses: None, only daily wearing glasses.
- Headgear: None allowed, only for religious purposes.
Visa Application form
- Application form must be filled in correctly.
- The person(s) exercising the parental authority or the legal guardian for the minor must sign for the minor. Parental authorizations are required to be notarized.
- Application form is to be completed in English Language.
Biometric
Applicants’ fingerprints (biometric) will be taken upon successful submission of application at OIS Office in Atlanta and Houston. Diplomats are exempted from biometric enrollment.
Interview
Irrespective of where an application has been submitted (Consulate or VAC) and whether the application has been submitted by the applicant in person or not, the applicant may be called for an interview at the Consulate.
