Passport Application

Step 1:  Get the Required Documents ready. Review/download requirement checklist here

Step 2:  Click the link https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/epassport to begin your application.

Step 5: Be at the Consulate on your appointment date for submission of application with required documents and biometric enrollment

  1. Click here to download requirements checklist, print, and follow the checklist accordingly
  2. To begin your application, click on the link https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/epassport 
  3. Select passport type (i.e. Standard e-Passport) and then select United States as the Processing Country
  4. Read the payment guidelines and instructions
  5. Next, click on start application, this will take you to the approved application and payment service provider, Innovate1 Service webpage.
  6. To log in, you must use your existing email account, which can only be a Google, Yahoo or you can use your existing OpenID account. If you do not have any of these, please create a new Google, Yahoo or OpenID account with Innovate1 Services to start your application.
  7. This will now take you to the Standard e-Passport Application form.
  8. You can now start filling out your application form
  9. Once your application form is completed, review and ensure all information filled out is correct and in the right order as on the passport or birth certificate. Please note that the order of names should be surname/last name - first name - middle name. Date of birth should be in Day/Month/Year.
  10. Submit your application by clicking on the submit button at the end of the application form. Your Application ID and Reference Number will now be generated and displayed on your screen. Please read all instructions displayed.
  11. Review and click the print and continue tab.
  1. After document has been printed, you will be taken back to the application. Or go to https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/passportPaymentStatus to enter application ID and Reference number on your application form.
  2. You can now continue to payment by selecting proceed to checkout or start another application
  3. On the cart items page, click proceed to online payment
  4. On the next page, read all instructions, check the required box, and select relevant means of payment
  5. You can pay online by Money Order, Point of Sale (POS) or Debit card.

Select a method of payment (Money Order, Point of Sale (POS), Visa or American Express Debit card) and follow relevant steps.

Note: You may choose to exit the application to make payment at a later stage. To return, go to www.innovate1.com and sign in.

  1. If you choose to pay with a money order, make sure to link or associate your money order number with your application, before you submit your payment details. You can do this by writing the serial number on the money order.
  2. Please provide the serial number with other requested information.
  3. After you click the proceed button at the bottom of the page
  4. A confirmation email will be sent stating that your order number and tracking number is associated with a money order serial number. This email does not mean that your application is paid yet.
  5. Your money order should be made payable to Innovate 1 Service/FGN
  6. After you have made your payment, please print your receipt and your acknowledgement slip will be sent to your email once the money order is received and processed.
As part of anti-fraud measures implemented to protect our valued customers, please note the following policy for making payments on the site:
  1. Applicants' first name and last name must match the first name and last name on the credit card used for payment.
  2. Applicants who intend to pay for family members should use the cart which allows for payment for up to 5 applications at the same time – the applicant/card holder and 4 family members).
  3. When using the cart, the last name of all family members must match the last name on the credit card used for payment.
  4. To qualify to use the cart to pay for family, the cardholder must also be an applicant in the cart.
  5. Cards can be used once per month unless registered where applicable.
  6. To ensure that your payment is properly processed, the address on your card statement must match exactly the address you provide on the portal payment page.
  7. The following users are required to register their cards before making payment on the site:
      • Applicants whose first names and last names do not exactly match the first and last names on their credit cards.
      • Cardholders making payments for others.
      • Applicants/cardholders who wish to make payments more than once a month on the site.
      • Applicants/cardholders such as travel agencies or businesses who wish to use the cart to make payment for more than 5 applicants at the same time.
Note that no card holder who has charged back, or card that has been charged back or applicant for whom a charged back card was used for payment shall be able to use a card on this site unless approved by customer service. Same applies to applicants or card holders who are placed on the site blacklist due to fraudulent activities.

  • Click on https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/changeDetails/cid/1Ar1Il1L to begin payment for Administrative Charge for Correction of Data
  • Select Passport Type (Only Standard e-Passport is available), 
  • Select Processing Country (preselected as Nigeria), select Change Type as “Change of Data Request/Data Change”, then enter your Passport Number that has the incorrect data.
  • Tick the “I am paying for Processing Admin Form” box, then click on the “Start Application” at the bottom of the page to start filling of the form. 
  • You can now start filling out the form. Please ensure that the form is filled out with the new data you wish to have on the new Passport.
  • After filling out the form click on “Submit Application” button at the bottom of the page.
  • Review the information and select payment option, you can then proceed to make payment.
  • Note that the payment is to be in Naira.
  • After successful payment, you will receive and email. Please note your application ID and Reference Number, as well as the Passcode.
  • You can then use the passcode to print the payment slip via this link https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/ChangeRequestStatus
